What people are saying about our service?
Thank you, Les!!!
We had a very unique and 'one off' piece of equipment that needed both designing from scratch as well as being actually built and then fitted. You achieved all of this from start to finish with professionalism and skills that are hard to come by.
Not only did this unique double alternator housing bracket need to be directly attached to the engine but you also had limited space in which to fit it!
The end result you produced not only functions perfectly but also looks the business!!
We had been trying to complete this project for 3 years before we found you and we were able to complete the work within our time limitations once you took it on.
Greatly appreciate your time, communication and knowledge on this project with us.
Thanks again,
Paul - SY Wildflower

This letter is to highly and unequivocally recommend Leslie Robinson and his business as an asset to the yachting industry on Grenada. We have come to know Les over many months as he has worked on our catamaran at Clarkes Court Boatyard and Marina. We have found him to be exceptionally skilled and a top-notch problem solver. He found and corrected mistakes made or overlooked by previous repair technicians, ensuring our safety from likely mishap had they not been discovered. He provided invaluable advice and guidance on repairs that were needed and helped us understand our boat’s operation much better than we had previously. He also volunteered to help us repeatedly after hours, piloting our catamaran to the dock, and helping us tremendously in other ways small and large when we were in a tight spot. Especially noteworthy are Leslie’s integrity, honesty and straightforward respectful approach in providing outstanding service to us as new yacht owners. Leslie is a very positive asset to Clarke’s Court Boatyard and Marina who cares about a high-quality job, well and honestly done. He genuinely cares about boat owners and safe operation of their boats. We couldn’t recommend Les more highly as a quality business and a quality boat repair technician skilled in many categories of yacht maintenance and repair.

We first met Les, socializing as boat owners, and it soon became apparent that his knowledge of boat building, engineering and services was exceptional. We employed Palm Tree Marine to complete several important jobs whilst we were in the UK, and our boat was on the hard at Clarkes Court. Knowing and trusting Les, we asked if he could carry out this work. His direct communication and advice have been excellent, and helped get the work done to our required high standard, specification and on time. We also asked if Les could check on our boat from time to time whilst we were away. Again, he has kept us informed and given us confidence everything was good., especially at the time of the boat fire. We highly recommend Les and consider he will be an asset to the services at Clarkes Court with his future business.

Earlier this year, on four different occasions, my boat exhibited problems that required different skill sets to identify and remedy electrical anomalies involving random engine starts, exhibited in the middle of the night. Fresh water pump, non-operational, engine shut-off not functioning, keel bolt leakage into bilges plus cleats and fairlead partial detachment. The random engine start fault required clear thinking to track down and fix. After extensive trouble shooting involving circuit tracing, confirmation of connection and voltage, the problem was isolated as being in a multipin connector at the helm station. This was exacerbated by being humidity and rain related, a condition that was not continuous. On rainy days with high humidity, corrosion on some pins in the mass connector changed conductivity sufficient to cross connect and send voltage to the starter solenoid. I write this explanation in some detail because I was particularly impressed by Leslie’s tenacity in tracing a particularly troublesome and elusive fault. The fresh water pump required new wiring from the panel, as internal corrosion had caused a large drop in voltage and current capability at the pump. The engine electrical switch shut-off at the helm was not functioning. Les sourced a pull cable, drilled and installed the cable from the helm to the engine. The keel had been ‘repaired’ by a previous owner and showed excessive caulk/sealer around the keel to hull join. Internally, there was leakage from two of the aft keel bolts. These problems were fixed successfully and the boat is water tight again. Two of the fairleads and one cleat were loose. Examination showed they had been poorly repaired on some earlier occasion, requiring deck repair holes filled and re drilled, with new bolts etc. Overall, Les demonstrated strong competence in a number of skill areas and performed well in all with excellent time management and schedule maintenance. I particularly complement him on his neatness of work and willingness to clean up all signs of his presence. I have no reservation in recommending Les for practically any electrical, mechanical, hull or other marine related problems.

To Whom it May Concern
I would like to convey my admiration for Mr Les Robinson. He has completed several projects for me on a range of vessels both sailing and power. His knowledge of boat systems are second to none in all areas. He is efficient, communicative and willing to
oblige in any way in order to get the job done quickly and safely.
As well as his impressive practical skills he is also proficient in computer aided design and development of new parts and systems. In this he can take you from initial drawings to completed, machined and functioning end products. I have no hesitation in recommending Les in all areas of boat maintenance,
consultation and problem solving.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Mark Wibberley
